FAQs

Apex Garages questions, answered

The things people ask before ordering. Anything else — call us, a real person answers.

Do I need planning permission for an Apex garage?

Prefab garages under 30m² can usually be erected under permitted development rights, so most Apex garages need no planning consent. Exceptions apply for listed buildings and conservation areas — we'll advise before you order.

How long does installation take?

Most standard Apex garages are installed in half a day. Everything is manufactured in our Bradford factory, so on-site time is short and tidy.

What base do I need?

A level concrete base is required. We can lay it for you — it's priced after a free virtual survey, and ordering the base and the building together usually works out cheaper. The base work is always a separate, earlier visit: the concrete has to be finished and cured for at least a week before your installation date, so the two jobs are never done on the same day.

Can the garage door be automated?

Yes. The Hormann up & over doors we fit take electric operators well, so you can add remote-control opening — ask when you order and we'll spec the right door for it.

What does the 10-year guarantee cover?

The building structure is covered by our 10-year factory guarantee. Doors carry their own manufacturer warranties of 2–10 years depending on type.

How much does an Apex garage cost?

Prices depend on size, specification and your delivery area, and always include VAT, delivery and installation. A typical Nucrete order comes to around £3,500. Download the price list for exact figures for your postcode.

How long will an Apex garage last?

50 years or more, with only basic annual maintenance. The steel-reinforced concrete panels don't rot or rust, so an Apex garage will outlast several timber buildings.
