Got a question or two? You can always get in touch, but here’s a few Q&A’s to get you started…

We are the official factory direct website for Nucrete Ltd, operating since 2004 with thousands of previous customers.

Concrete garages vary in cost from around £900 for a small concrete shed to £10,000+ for an all singing, all dancing large ‘Elite’ double garage.  A price list can be downloaded on our website.

Concrete garages generally have a fifty year life span, although basic annual maintenance can probably take this beyond.

Prefab garages vary in cost from around £900 for a small prefab shed to £10,000+ for an all singing, all dancing large ‘Elite’ double garage.  A price list can be downloaded on our website.

Prefab garages in England and Wales built under 29.76m2 (approximately 5.56m x 5.61m) can be erected under permitted development rights therefore do NOT require planning consent under most circumstances.  There are exceptions such as listed buildings, properties in conservation areas etc.

Minimum thickness of a concrete garage floor should be 100mm (4”).  Our free base laying guide covers all aspects of base laying

A concrete prefab garage should be erected on a concrete base of minimum thickness 100mm.  This base acts as both the floor and the foundation of the building.  See our free guide for more details.

Prefab garages are most certainly much cheaper to build, generally one quarter of the cost of a brick or block garage.  Check our price list to compare.

If the building falls within permitted development building rights, you don’t need planning permission.  We have a link to the planning portal that explains your rights regarding planning permission for garages and other out-buildings.

Yes, providing the garage is built no further forward than your existing property, and if the garage is within 2m of your boundary it cannot be greater than 2.5m in height  Our link to the government planning portal explains all.

Generally at the end of a driveway, as it may then be used for storage or parking a car.  This will attract the most value financially for your property.  There are restrictions to location and our link to the planning portal will explain all.

A garage adds value to a property whereas a shed may not.  A garage will be considered in a property valuation as would extra bedrooms or bathrooms etc…

Generally, it’s around the same price.  A detached garage may have an extra wall or panels, but an attached garage generally takes more in installation time.

A 2 car garage can cost as little as £3200 plus base costs of around £1100, meaning a complete installation can be achieved for around £4300 – up to a maximum of approximately £15,000 including base for a very large top specification 2 car garage.

Laying a concrete base and fitting a concrete prefab garage is probably the best way to build your own garage cost effectively.

Generally, property value will increase greater than the cost to build a prefab concrete garage.  Ask your estate agent to verify if you’re unsure.
