Palram Canopia: who they are and why we stock them
Every carport, canopy and gazebo kit we sell is made by Palram Canopia. Here's who they are, why we partnered with them in 2018, and what to expect from a kit.
Palram Canopia is the outdoor-living brand of Palram Industries, a polycarbonate manufacturer that has been in business since the 1960s. They make the aluminium and polycarbonate carports, patio covers, gazebos, sheds, greenhouses and door awnings that Nucrete has supplied across the UK since 2018 — kits we chose because the materials genuinely outlast timber.
Who are Palram Canopia?
Palram Industries has manufactured polycarbonate roofing and panel products since the 1960s. The company is headquartered in Israel with subsidiaries across the Middle East, the US and Europe — including a UK base in Doncaster. Alongside its industrial roofing business, Palram builds a full range of garden and outdoor structures for the domestic market, sold in the UK under the Canopia name.
Why does Nucrete stock Palram kits?
We partnered with Palram Canopia in 2018, after visiting their Doncaster headquarters and finding a company that approached quality and customer care the way we do. Nucrete has manufactured concrete buildings in Bradford for over 45 years, so we're fussy about what we put our name to — and Palram's kits earned their place. Every kit we sell is delivered by courier to most UK locations, with delivery included in the price and standard lead times of 3 to 5 working days.
What are Palram carports and canopies made of?
Palram structures pair aluminium frames with polycarbonate or acrylic panels. The panels are resistant to rot, virtually unbreakable in normal domestic use, and have excellent light transmission — so a carport or patio cover keeps the rain off without turning the space beneath it dark. Unlike timber, these materials need no annual treatment and won't rot over time: an occasional wash is the whole maintenance schedule.
How hard is a Palram kit to build?
Most competent DIYers manage a Palram kit without help. Every product ships with an extensive, professional instruction manual, and many have step-by-step assembly videos as well. Start by checking the parts against the manifest and preparing a firm, level base — that's where good builds are won.
If you'd rather not build it yourself, any local handyman or tradesperson can assemble a kit from the same instructions. And if you get stuck mid-build, our own team offers technical support by phone on 01274 214 203 or by email at support@nucrete.co.uk — we've helped customers through most of these kits at one point or another.
What guarantee do Palram products carry?
Every Palram Canopia product carries a manufacturer's guarantee of between 8 and 15 years, depending on the item — the exact term is listed on each product page. For structures built from rot-proof polycarbonate and aluminium, that guarantee reflects how the materials actually behave outdoors.
What does the Palram range cover?
The range runs from vehicle shelter to garden living: carport kits — including the freestanding Atlas carport and the heavy-duty Arcadia with its cantilever design — plus patio covers, all-year-round gazebos, storage sheds, greenhouses and door awnings. Prices on every kit include VAT and delivery.
Who owns Palram Canopia?
Canopia is the outdoor-products brand of Palram Industries, a polycarbonate manufacturer founded in the 1960s and headquartered in Israel, with subsidiaries across the Middle East, US and Europe including a UK base in Doncaster.
How long is the Palram guarantee?
Between 8 and 15 years depending on the product — each item's guarantee is stated on its product page. It's a manufacturer's guarantee covering the structure itself.
How long does delivery of a Palram kit take?
Standard delivery is 3 to 5 working days by courier to most UK locations, and delivery is included in the kit price.
Do Palram polycarbonate panels go brittle or yellow?
Palram's polycarbonate panels are made to resist exactly that — they're rot-proof, virtually unbreakable in normal use, and keep their light transmission without annual maintenance, unlike timber structures.
Can Nucrete help if I get stuck building a kit?
Yes — call us on 01274 214 203 (or freephone 0800 849 9036) or email support@nucrete.co.uk and we'll talk you through it. Every kit also ships with a full instruction manual, and many have assembly videos.
