- A longer-than-standard garage for a workshop and a car. Because the buildings are sectional, lengths run in regular steps — so where the plot allows, going longer costs far less than people expect and removes the compromise entirely.
How do you get a garage to the bottom of a long garden?
Distance from the road is the East Midlands version of the access question, and it's usually straightforward. The panels come off the lorry and travel to the plot on a trolley, so what matters is the route rather than the length of it — a reasonably firm, reasonably level path with no steps.
Where the route crosses a lawn we lay boards down first. That protects the turf and, just as importantly, stops the trolley digging in and getting stuck, which is a much bigger problem on a long soft run than a short one.

Can you remove the old garage and lay the base?
Yes, and it's how most East Midlands jobs run. We take the old building away, including licensed asbestos removal where the old roof needs it, lay the new base, and install the replacement as one job with one company answerable for the lot.
If we lay the base, the building is guaranteed to fit it. If you'd rather use your own builder we'll liaise with them on the specification instead, so the slab is right before we arrive — worth doing properly, because a base that's out of square is the one thing that can stop an installation on the day.
