A Nucrete brick shed is a brick-clad garden shed: insulated wall and roof panels finished in brick, with a multi-point locking uPVC door, installed on your base in less than a day. It costs around 50% less than a traditionally built brick shed from a general builder.
A traditionally built brick outbuilding costs around £1,500 per square metre, so a 2.5m × 4m brick shed can reach £15,000 from a general builder. Our range brings that down to roughly half — a £15,000 shed reduced to around £7,500 (figures for illustration only) — by prefabricating the building before it arrives and installing it in a fraction of the time. And because it's designed as a garden outbuilding, planning approval isn't needed in most cases under the government's permitted development scheme.
How is a brick shed different from a traditional brick build?
A Nucrete brick shed is a brick-clad building rather than a conventionally laid brick structure: a steel frame carries insulated wall and roof panels, finished externally in your choice of brick. You get the classic look of brick — durable, low-maintenance, and naturally at home next to a British house — without weeks of bricklaying on your lawn. The building arrives largely prefabricated, which is why installation takes less than a day once your base has cured.

What base does a brick shed need?
A brick shed sits on a concrete slab foundation, which forms the floor and the foundation in one — the simplest and most cost-effective option for this kind of building. Once the base has cured, our team installs the shed on top in less than a day.

Brick shed or concrete shed — which should you choose?
A concrete shed is the budget-friendly workhorse: lower cost, made in our own Bradford factory, installed in around a day and covered by our 10-year structural guarantee. A brick shed costs more, but it looks like a permanent part of your garden, and its insulated panels keep the inside more comfortable through the year.
If the shed lives behind the house and just needs to be dry and secure, concrete is hard to beat on value. If it's visible from the house or the street — or you want something closer to a garden room — the brick finish earns its keep.

Do I need planning permission for a brick shed?
In most cases, no. A Nucrete brick shed is designed as a garden outbuilding, so it normally falls under the government's permitted development scheme. Listed buildings, conservation areas and homes with permitted development rights removed are the usual exceptions — check with your local planning authority if any apply.
How long does a brick shed take to install?
Less than a day, once your concrete base has cured. The building is prefabricated before it arrives, so most of the overall timescale is preparing the base and booking the installation slot.
Is a brick shed really made of brick?
It's brick-clad rather than solid masonry: brick cladding over a steel-framed, insulated structure, giving you the classic brick appearance and durability without the cost and time of traditional bricklaying. A composite finish is available as an alternative, and custom brick styles as an optional extra.
Can I add electrics to a brick shed?
Yes. The building is supplied as a finished, usable space, and you can add electrics and plasterboard afterwards to create a workshop, hobby room or garden room. Always use a qualified electrician for any electrical work.
