FAQs

Check the FAQ’s below, and if we haven’t answered your question we’re more than happy to assist you in person.

I need a base laying, how do I go about this?
There are countless professional builders in every area, and base laying is a simple job for an experienced tradesman.

We will supply all the technical information required for you or your builder to carry out any base-works required, or alternatively can put you in contact with one of our approved builders who will be happy to give you a fixed price quotation in writing.

If you have your own contacts for base laying, we will happily liaise with your builder directly should you want us to. See our base laying page for further details.

I have an old garage that needs removing. What should I do?
Garage removal is a common necessity for many people.

There are many companies that advertise this kind of service online, or we can put you in touch with our contacts who can handle this. Contact us for details.

If you have your own contacts for garage removal or base laying, we will happily liaise with your builder directly should you want us to. See our base laying page for further details.

My existing base is not quite level. Will my new garage still fit?
Your new garage has a tolerance of approximately half an inch (12mm), on its base. The use of timber wedges will be used by the fitting team to take up any unevenness in the base. If in doubt, contact us for a full explanation.

If you have your own contacts for base laying, we will happily liaise with your builder directly should you want us to. See our base laying page for further details.

Do I need planning permission for my new concrete garage?

In most cases no, as sectional buildings generally fall within the governments’ permitted development scheme, but there are certain situations when you will require planning approval or building regulation control.

For example, if your property is located within a conservation area, is a listed building, or your proposed building is bigger or higher than permitted development allows.

If in doubt, either talk to us or your local planning office for clarification.

Do I have assurance from you, that I will be satisfied with the finished product?

Of course. We pride ourselves on the finish and quality of our buildings and offer a full ten year factory guarantee for your peace of mind.

(Up & Over doors carry their own guarantee of between 2 and 10 years).
